The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team used the Barcelona Moto2 Test to prepare for the remainder of the 2026 Moto2 season. Izan Guevara and Alberto Ferrández eagerly got to work and finished in 3rd and 11th place in the overall timesheets.

The Barcelona Moto2 Test allowed the riders track time at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from 10:00-18:00. Guevara and Ferrández used it wisely, focusing on trying different set-up changes, gathering data, and improving their understanding of the bike. They put in 78 and 85 laps respectively and set best laps of 1'41.503s and 1'42.030s. Besides their encouraging rankings of P3 and P11 in the time sheets, the main takeaway was their improved confidence, consistency, and overall feeling aboard the bike.

The team will now enjoy a one-week break before they travel to the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello for the Grand Prix of Italy, held 29-31 May.

"This was the only Moto2 test during the season, so naturally it was a very important one for us. The two riders followed different programmes and tested different solutions, which means that, overall, we collected a huge amount of valuable data.

"It's difficult to judge the outright performance because we were not specifically chasing lap times. Tyre usage was completely open, so every team could use different compounds and tyres from their own allocation, including the new specifications brought by Pirelli, which makes comparisons quite difficult.

"What pleased me the most was seeing both riders very calm and positive throughout the day, especially Izan. Once again, he was able to complete many very consistent and fast laps under the 1'42s range, which is extremely encouraging from a race-pace perspective.

"Barcelona shares some similarities with Mugello in terms of long corners and flowing sections, so if we found something positive here, we hope it can work well there too. Overall, we leave this test feeling satisfied with the direction we are taking."

"Overall, it was a very positive day. After completing many laps here in Barcelona, I felt good on the bike, and we were able to try many different things to improve both the bike and my overall feeling.

"At this stage it's very important to keep learning, understanding what works better, and building confidence with every outing. I think today was an important day to help us better understand which direction we want to continue following.

"Everyone in the team is happy with the progress we are making, and now the next step is to head to Mugello and continue working with the same positive feeling and momentum we have at the moment."

"Today was a very productive test day for us. We tried many different things and also made some significant changes to the bike set-up. We completed a lot of laps with both new and used tyres, which allowed us to gather plenty of useful information.

"Overall, I think we learned a lot and took another step forward in understanding the bike better. The feeling improved throughout the day, and the work we did should help us arrive at Mugello more prepared and with a clearer direction."
