After these two days, we can’t say we fully understood everything, mainly because of the conditions. We appreciated that, despite the weather, Alberto chose to ride as much as possible to gain experience with the bike and with the team, and for us it was equally important to understand him and see how he approaches the work. We weren’t able to focus properly on set-up, but we tested the bike in very different conditions — with heavy rain, a damp track and some laps on slicks today — which still provided useful information. We’re very satisfied with his attitude and the way he improves every time he goes out on track. As for Izán, he rode very little, but it was impressive to see how fast he was straight away. From his first lap, his sector times were already very competitive. Overall, we feel we have resumed from where we left off at the end of last season, with a strong rider-bike-team package.

Today wasn’t extremely intense, as we already had a clear work plan and managed to complete everything on our programme, even though track conditions were still not perfect. The feeling in the dry was good and I felt fast from the beginning, even on the hard tyre. I set my best lap time on a used tyre, which is encouraging. Now we’re looking forward to Jerez, where we have a lot of items to test.

Unfortunately, we all had to finish our test day earlier than planned, but we still managed to complete a few laps. There was quite a lot of water on track in the morning, but we were able to try many things and gather important information. In the afternoon we completed some laps on slicks, before an oil spill led to the session being stopped. Overall, I’m satisfied with how these tests went.
