Izan Guevara's championship charge gathered further momentum at the Mandalika International Circuit, where the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 rider extended his winning streak to three races today. Having already stood on the top step in Austria and Japan in the last few weeks, the Spaniard added Indonesia to his run of victories to secure maximum points and further close the gap in the Moto2 World Championship standings to 5.5 points. Meanwhile, teammate Alberto Ferrández focused on collecting valuable experience at Mandalika while carefully managing his physical condition as he continues his recovery from a collarbone injury sustained in Austria.

Race 1 was red-flagged following a four-rider incident in Turn 1. As fewer than three laps had been completed, a new race was declared with a quick-start procedure. All riders except David Alonso and Joe Roberts resumed their original grid positions, while the race distance was reduced to 14 laps.

Guevara was unable to replicate his perfect launch from Race 1 when Race 2 got underway and settled into second position behind Álex Escrig. The leading duo quickly broke clear of the chasing pack during the opening stages. As championship rival Manuel Gonzalez worked his way through the field and moved into podium contention, Guevara increased his pace and began reeling in the race leader. With four laps remaining, the Spaniard launched his charge, rapidly reducing the gap to Escrig and positioning himself for a fight for victory. When Escrig encountered a mechanical issue with two laps to go, Guevara seized the opportunity, stretching his advantage to 3.570s at the chequered flag to secure his fourth victory and ninth podium of the season.

Riding with a not fully healed right collarbone injury, Ferrández's objective for the Mandalika race was to gain as much experience at the track as possible while avoiding excessive strain. Starting from 24th on the grid, he climbed from 25th to 23rd position on lap 7 before dropping to the back of the field on lap 12. The Spaniard had focused on finding a consistent rhythm and gathering valuable mileage around the challenging circuit. However, with discomfort increasing as the race progressed, he elected to return to the pits with two laps remaining.

Guevara remains second in the Moto2 World Championship standings with 260 points and has reduced the gap to the championship leader to 5.5 points. Teammate Alberto Ferrández sits 21st overall with 17.5 points, while the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team holds third place in the teams' standings with 277.5 points.

The Moto2 paddock will now enjoy a one-week break before heading to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit for the Grand Prix of Australia, taking place from 23-25 October.

Team Manager, BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2
"It's a race to remember. Izan showed incredible maturity and composure. Even when he knew he had the pace to attack, he understood that the championship is about more than winning individual races. He stayed calm, settled into his rhythm, and managed the tyres perfectly, keeping himself in a position to attack in the closing laps. He was outstanding from start to finish.

"We are sorry for what happened to [Álex] Escrig, who was riding a very strong race up to that point, and I want to congratulate him as well. After the red flag, the team also reacted brilliantly, making the right decisions and fitting a fresh set of tyres that we had managed to save during the weekend. Congratulations to Izan and to everyone in the team for an exceptional job.

"With Alberto, we had agreed before the race that the objective was not necessarily to finish, but to complete some laps with the group and continue learning the circuit. He also had to stop if the pain became too severe or riding became unsafe. He managed the situation exactly as planned, and I'm pleased with how he approached it.

"We achieved 100% of our target for Alberto this weekend, which was to learn the track and gain valuable experience for the future. Well done to him for his commitment and to the whole team for managing the situation so well."

"It was a very tough race, and [Álex] Escrig made it really difficult for me. Honestly, he surprised me with his pace. The team had told me he was going well, but I didn't expect him to be so strong throughout the race. I decided to keep a little distance rather than push too hard early on because I wanted to manage the tyres and save something for the final laps.

"Towards the end, I was getting closer to him, and my plan was to try to make a move on the last lap. I knew he was very strong, so I had to be patient and choose my moment carefully. Obviously, the red flag had changed everything, but I'm still really happy with how I rode and with the pace we showed throughout the race.

"To win again, especially after taking consecutive victories, is something I honestly didn't expect. I'm very proud of the team and the work we are doing together. We are getting a little closer in the championship, so now it's time to enjoy this result with the team and keep pushing."

"Today was a very difficult day, more or less what we expected, because I knew the pain would make it hard to complete the full race. I started cautiously and never pushed too hard. There was a lot of fighting going on around me, but I preferred to stay out of trouble and avoid any unnecessary risks. Later, I tried to find a bit more rhythm, and considering the pain and the difficulties I was dealing with, I think the pace was quite good.

"Overall, it has been a positive weekend because we achieved our main objective: learning the whole circuit, gaining experience for next year, and getting more kilometres on the bike. Now I have a week to recover as much as possible and arrive in better condition in Australia. We'll focus on the next races and keep moving forward."
