The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team ended a productive Grand Prix of Germany weekend with a visit to Parc Fermé. Izan Guevara negotiated the Sachsenring circuit well and secured third, adding another strong German GP result to his résumé. Ferrández was battling to climb into the points until 6 laps before the end when he started to suffer from tyre degradation. He ultimately dropped to P22.

Guevara had a strong start from P3 and managed to position himself in second place on the first lap. Together with race leader Ivan Ortola, he tried to put his head down to break away from the pack, but Daniel Holgado overtook him on lap 5. The number 28 kept a firm pace going to bring home the bronze trophy and 16 highly valuable championship points.

Ferrández commenced from P17 and became part of a group of nine riders fighting for P12. He temporarily fell back in the opening stages but regrouped and climbed back up to P17 due to one rival's long-lap penalty and another's crash. The rookie initially was holding on firmly but started to lose ground on lap 22 and ultimately crossed the finish line in P22.

Guevara remains second in the championship with 144 points, reducing the gap to first to 51.5 points. Ferrández sits in 21st overall with 14.5 points. The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team hold on to third place in the team standings with 158.5 points.

The team will now enjoy a three-week summer break before returning to action at the Silverstone Circuit for the Grand Prix of Great Britain, held from 7-9 August.

Team Manager, BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2
"It was an outstanding race and an outstanding weekend for Izan Guevara. This podium is a very important result because it came in an extremely demanding race. From the halfway point onwards, everyone had to manage significant tyre degradation, especially the riders fighting at the front, and we knew before the start that Sachsenring would be one of the toughest circuits of the season in that respect. Finishing third, beating [Manuel] González and taking valuable points out of the championship leader is exactly the kind of result we're working towards. The most important thing is how we achieved it: with method, consistency, and excellent work from the very first session of the weekend.

"I'm disappointed for Alberto because we all believed he had the potential to achieve a much stronger result than today's finishing position. Unfortunately, he suffered much more from tyre degradation, probably because his tyre dropped earlier and more significantly than Izan's, and in the end he wasn't able to fight for the points. But this is all part of his learning process. He also made a different tyre choice, so this race will provide valuable experience that will help him in the future.

"I'd like to thank the whole team for the work they've done. We're approaching this championship in exactly the right way, and weekends like this show that we're building something important."

"It was an incredibly demanding race, probably even tougher than it looked from the outside. Physically it was one of the hardest races I've had for a long time. In the closing laps the rear tyre had dropped so much that the bike was sliding everywhere, both on corner entry and exit, so it was all about surviving and bringing the podium home.

"The first part of the race felt really good, and I was able to maintain a strong pace. Around the middle of the race, I tried to close the gap to the riders ahead because I felt I had a little more speed, but after a couple of laps the tyre degradation increased significantly, and from that point on I had to focus on managing it until the finish. Fortunately, I had built enough of a gap to fourth place to secure third position.

"I'm very happy with this result. The team did an excellent job throughout the weekend, and this podium allows us to head into the summer break having taken valuable points out of the championship leader. There's still a long season ahead, but if we keep working in this direction, we can continue fighting at the front. Now it's time to switch off for a few days, recover, and come back ready for the second half of the season."

"It was a very difficult race. Right from the start I didn't have a good feeling with the tyre and, honestly, I'm not sure what happened, because I never found the confidence I needed throughout the race.

"Despite that, I was able to stay close to the points positions for most of the race, but in the closing laps the tyre dropped significantly, and the bike became very difficult to ride. My pace fell by around four seconds per lap, and at that stage it was all about bringing the bike to the finish.

"It was a tough afternoon, but we'll analyse everything and keep working to understand what happened. This was another new circuit for me, so at least I'll come back next year with valuable experience, and hopefully we'll be able to fight for a much better result."
