BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2's Izan Guevara achieved a hard-fought P6 in the Grand Prix of Czechia Moto2. Rookie Alberto Ferrández made an impressive comeback after a difficult opening lap to secure P22.

With Manuel Gonzalez having received a post-qualifying nine-position grid penalty, Guevara started from P6 and quickly moved into fourth. As a gap opened between P2 and P3, he pushed on, overtaking Danny Holgado on lap 3. After Ivan Ortola served a long lap penalty, Guevara tried to stay close to him, but on lap 11 he was passed by Senna Agius which also allowed Filip Salac through. In the closing laps, Gonzalez pressured Guevara and overtook him with two laps remaining. Although the number-28 rider fought back on the final lap, Gonzalez secured P5 by 0.033s and Guevara finished in P6, 5.190s behind the winner.

Ferrández started strongly from P25, briefly gaining two positions before dropping to the back on the first lap. The rookie regrouped and settled into a consistent rhythm. Racing at Brno for the first time, he concentrated on maintaining a steady pace, gradually climbing to P22 by lap 11 and shrinking the substantial gap to P21 significantly till the finish. He crossed the line 28.238s behind the winner.

Today's results keep Guevara second in the championship with 115 points, while Ferrández is in 21st place with 8.5 points. The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team are in third with 123.5 points.

The team will be back in action next week at the TT Circuit Assen for the Grand Prix of The Netherlands, held from 26-28 June.

"Izan delivered a very strong race today and deserves a lot of credit. It was a weekend where we were not operating at 100%, but he stayed focused, fought hard, and managed to bring home the maximum points available under the circumstances.

"I also want to congratulate the team because the work done between yesterday and today was excellent. We made two changes to the bike, both in the right direction, and that allowed Izan to be much more competitive and race with greater confidence compared to yesterday.

"As for Alberto, after an early mistake he found himself at the back of the field, but once again he produced a strong recovery ride. His pace was good, and he was able to make up a lot of positions throughout the race.

"We have to remember that this was Alberto's first time racing at Brno. Starting from the back and fighting your way forward is never easy, especially on a circuit you are still getting to know. There is always the desire for more, but considering the circumstances, he did a solid job.

"Congratulations to both riders and to the whole team for the effort they put in this weekend."

"I'm actually very proud of the race we managed to do today. At the same time, it's a little frustrating because we were losing a lot of time on the straights, which meant I had to recover everything again in the braking zones and through the corners.

"I think that was quite visible during the race. Every lap I was pushing hard to make up the ground I was losing on acceleration, and that takes a lot of effort both physically and mentally. Even so, I gave everything I had until the very end.

"I lost the battle with Manu on the final lap but, honestly, I felt we had the pace to finish ahead. In the end, it came down to straight-line speed, and I simply couldn't defend my position.

"Despite that, I'm proud of the job we did as a team and of the way we managed the race. We'll analyse the data carefully to understand where we can improve and then focus on Assen. It will be a special weekend for me with my birthday on Sunday, so the goal is to arrive there ready to fight for the best result possible."

"Today was a very difficult race. We were starting from quite far back on the grid, but on the opening lap I managed to gain a few positions and was beginning to move forward through the field.

"Unfortunately, after an incident with another rider, I was forced offline and lost a lot of ground. That dropped me to the back again and meant I had to start another recovery through the pack.

"We knew this weekend was going to be challenging, and throughout the race I still struggled with some of the issues we had been facing since the start of the weekend. Despite that, we kept fighting until the end and gathered valuable information.

"The positive thing is that we don't have to wait long for another opportunity. In just a few days we'll be at Assen, and our focus is already on resetting, learning from this weekend, and coming back stronger."
