The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 riders pushed hard during the Grand Prix of Aragon Moto2 qualifying sessions. Izan Guevara took part in Q2 and had a good push at the start of the shoot-out. He ultimately secured second place and his seventh front-row start of the season. Teammate Alberto Ferrández was unable to finish his Q1 efforts like he wanted due to an unlucky crash in Turn 1. Tomorrow he will start the Race from P27.

Guevara came strong out of the gate with a 1'49.584s, a new All-Time Lap Record. He then returned to the box to prepare for a second stint. He had time for one more flying lap, but the number 28 was unable to find a time improvement. Due to a late charge from a rival, Guevara ended the session in second place, 0.179s from first.

Ferrández had a tough outing in Q1. Unable to set the time he had in mind on his first run, the number 54 quickly returned to the pit box. Ferrández was positioned towards the front of a large group of riders during his second outing. He produced a 1'51.157s on lap 6 and temporarily moved up to P11. He was keen to further improve, but a crash going into Turn 1 on his next attempt ended his qualifying efforts early. He will start tomorrow's Race from P27.

The 19-lap Moto2 Race will take place on Sunday, starting at 12:15 (GMT+2).

"Today Izan did something really impressive. As we saw on Friday morning, we started the weekend with some set-up issues, and he didn't have the feeling he needed to push. But, as we've done several times this season, we kept working seriously and made progress session after session, getting closer and closer to the front. Today we were even close to fighting for pole, so credit to Izan and to the whole team. Now we hope we have found the right set-up for tomorrow's Race. We also have the data from Silverstone, where we were strong in qualifying but lost some ground towards the end of the race. That has been an important reference for us when preparing for tomorrow.

"Alberto is struggling a little at the moment, and the crash didn't help. Perhaps he pushed a little too hard after arriving at a track he already knew and setting himself some targets, which is understandable. I'm sure he can learn a lot by looking at Izan's data, and we know that Alberto has often been much stronger in the race than in qualifying. He's a fighter, our warrior, and I'm sure he'll give it everything tomorrow."

"Compared with last year, we have to be really happy with today. Last year we were starting from 15th or further back, so we've made a big step forward, and I'm very pleased with the work we've done. Of course, it would have been nice to get the pole, because we were very close, but second place on the front row is still a great starting position and puts us in a strong position for tomorrow.

"Looking at the race pace, I think we are in a good place. There are a few riders who have a very strong rhythm, and I expect it to be a close fight, but our goal is to fight for the podium. That would put us back at the front and, most importantly, give us another opportunity to close the gap in the championship. That's what we're aiming for tomorrow."

"Today was another difficult day. We struggled quite a lot yesterday and it was similar today, but we kept working to improve, and I think we managed to make some progress in certain areas.

"Unfortunately, I wasn't able to put together a good lap, and then I also had a crash, so there were quite a few setbacks that prevented us from achieving the result we were looking for.

"Even on difficult days, we keep working and fighting together as a team. These are the moments that make us stronger, and we have to keep pushing, learning, and moving forward."
