Guevara Equals Personal Best Moto2 Qualifying Result: P2 on Thai GP Grid

BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team's Izan Guevara showed strong speed in todays' Grand Prix of Thailand Q2 session and secured P2 on the grid. Alberto Ferrández made the most of the all-dry Saturday sessions at the sweltering Chang International Circuit to gain experience. He will commence his first race with the team from P26.

The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team gained momentum at the Chang International Circuit on the Saturday of the Grand Prix of Thailand. Izan Guevara secured P2 on the grid, equalling his best Moto2 qualifying result so far (2025 Valencia). Alberto Ferrández took part in Q1 and will start his first Moto2 World Championship race as a full-time official rider from P26.

Guevara was quick to show his pace on the Saturday. Having finished FP2 in second place, he was keen to push in the Q2 session, aiming to challenge for the front row. During the 15-minute shoot-out, he set a best time of 1'34.604s on lap 7/8, which earned him second place, just 0.028s from pole.

Ferrández took part in Q1 and started it with some confidence after booking progress in this morning's FP2, which he finished in 22nd place. He completed 7 laps in Q1 and set a best time of 1'35.549s on his sixth try, earning himself 26th place on the grid.

Tomorrow, the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team will be back in action at 13:15 (GMT+7) for the 22-lap Moto2 Race.
