BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Secure Double Direct Q2 Placement on Positive Misano Friday

The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team made a strong start to the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera, with both Izan Guevara and Alberto Ferrández securing direct passage to Q2. Guevara completed the Practice session in P8, while rookie Ferrández delivered an impressive P14 result.

BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2's Izan Guevara and Alberto Ferrández enjoyed an encouraging opening day at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, with both riders securing spots inside the top 14 during the Moto2 Practice session and booking direct entry into Saturday's Q2 – the team's third double direct Q2 passage of the season.

Guevara quickly found his rhythm around the San Marino circuit and underlined his strong form from recent rounds. The Spaniard finished FP1 in P3 and remained a consistent presence near the front throughout the day. In the afternoon Practice, he secured eighth position thanks to a 1'34.566s lap set on lap 14/16, finishing 0.424s from the fastest rider. The result sees him continue his 100% direct Q2-entry rate.

Ferrández also enjoyed one of his strongest Fridays of the season. After ending FP1 in P10, the Spaniard continued to build confidence throughout the afternoon and delivered his fastest lap when it mattered most. A 1'34.827s set on his final stint of the Practice, on lap 14/15, earned him 14th place and direct access to Q2 for the third time this season. His best time was 0.685s from first.

Track action resumes on Saturday at 09:25-09:55 (GMT+2) for FP2, before qualifying gets underway from 13:40-14:20.

"From the outside, it probably looked like a difficult day, and honestly this is a circuit that is quite complicated for me. There are some tracks where things come more naturally, while on others you have to fight a little more, and Misano is definitely one of those for me. The circuit is quite narrow and bumpy, which makes the bike move around a lot and makes the corner entries more difficult.

"The first sector is probably where I struggle the most, especially in Turn 1 and the tighter section that follows. When the bike doesn't turn as I would like and you have those tight corners with a lot of movement from the bike, it becomes easier to make mistakes, and you lose a little bit of time. But we have the whole weekend to keep working and find a better feeling. The important thing is that the points are given out on Sunday, and I think we achieved our main objective today by getting into Q2. Tomorrow is another day, and we will try to move a little further forward.

"Realistically, I would like to be on the front row, because that would make the race a little easier for us. I made a mistake on my fast lap today, so I could have been a little closer to the front riders, and I think that if we put everything together tomorrow, the front row could be possible. But we will have to find a lot more to fight for those positions. It is tough, both physically and mentally, but I have a great team behind me that always helps me to be at my maximum. We will keep fighting and give everything we have."

"I'm really happy with today. We did a really good job throughout the whole day, and already in FP1 we had a strong session and a good pace. We still have some problems with the bike going over the bumps, but even with that, we were really competitive, so I'm very happy with how things went.

"In the Practice session I was also able to put together some good laps and maintain a strong pace, which gives me a lot of confidence going into tomorrow. We have worked well as a team today, and now the goal is to keep building on this feeling. Tomorrow, we go directly into Q2, so let's see what we can do."
