ALBERTO FERRANDEZ 1'59.072 / 14 LAPS
The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team showed solid form on the Friday of the Grand Prix of Czechia. Izan Guevara continued his 100% direct-Q2-entry success rate in 2026, ending the Practice in P7. Alberto Ferrández came just 0.048s short of a Q2 spot and will take part in tomorrow's Q1.
Guevara completed this morning's FP1 in P8, with an idea of how to improve in the afternoon's Practice session. The Spaniard held seventh place as the flying laps started to roll in. He showed he and his crew are on the right track when he put in his bid: a 1'58.768s posted on lap 12/14 saw him in P7 in the Practice results, 0.257s from first.
Ferrández had finished FP1 in P18 and made a big step in the sunny afternoon session, quickly featuring inside the top 10. As usual, the shoot-out for a direct place in Q2 heated up in the final 10 minutes. The rookie was keen to respond but was unable to improve on his 1'59.072s set on lap 2/14. It had him finish in P15 in the Practice classification, 0.561s off the fastest time.
Track action resumes on Saturday at 09:25-09:55 (GMT+2) for FP2, and the qualifying sessions will take place from 13:40-14:20.
"It was a positive Friday overall. This morning we were struggling a bit more and were around six tenths off the pace, so the main objective was to understand where we could improve and work on our race rhythm.
"The team made an important set-up change between the sessions, going back to a configuration we had used earlier in the season that we felt could suit this circuit better. The improvement was immediately noticeable and allowed us to make a significant step forward.
"I'm actually happier with our race pace than with the final position. We finished seventh and only a couple of tenths from the fastest rider, which is encouraging, but I think the consistency we showed throughout the session is even more important heading into the weekend.
"For tomorrow, the goal is to keep building. At the moment, the pole position might be a little out of reach, but I believe we have the potential to fight for the first two rows and put ourselves in the best possible position for the race. The championship remains the main objective, and every strong result helps us move in that direction."

"Today was my first experience at Brno, so there was a lot to learn from the beginning of the day. Overall, I think we did a good job and managed to build confidence with the track quite quickly.
"In Practice, I was competitive early on and my first time attack was good enough to put me near the front. Unfortunately, after making some set-up changes, we didn’t find the improvement we were looking for, and I wasn't able to improve my lap time on the second tyre.
"Even so, there are positive things to take from today. We gathered useful information, and now we need to understand which direction gives us the best feeling with the bike.
"For tomorrow the objective is clear: keep working, make another step forward, and try to go through Q1 into Q2. I believe we have the potential to do it, but we need to put everything together."
