IZAN GUEVARA 1'34.348 / 14 LAPS

ALBERTO FERRANDEZ 1'35.326 / 15 LAPS
BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2's Izan Guevara ended the Grand Prix of France Moto2 Practice session in first place, earning himself a confident spot in tomorrow's Q2 session. Alberto Ferrández finished in 23rd place in the Practice timesheets and will take part in Q1.
Guevara had finished FP1 in P2, and it boosted his determination to be a key protagonist again in the Practice in the afternoon. He became the session leader early on with a 1'34.348s set on lap 2/14 that kept him at the top of the timesheets for the remainder of the session.
Ferrández, despite being a rookie, was already familiar with the Le Mans track. With perfect riding conditions on the Friday, he worked on adjusting his riding to the Moto2 bike lines at the Bugatti Circuit. He clocked a 1'35.326s on lap 4/15 that put him in P23 in the Practice classification.
Track action resumes on Saturday at 09:25-09:55 (GMT+2) for FP2, and the qualifying sessions will take place from 13:40-14:20.
"I'm really happy to have finished P1 on the opening day here in Le Mans. I felt very good on the bike from the beginning – everything came quite naturally, and I was comfortable straight away. Even during the fast laps, I felt relaxed and wasn’t forcing too much.
"Of course, there are still areas where we can improve. I'm very strong in Sector 2 and 3, but we still need to work a bit more on Sector 1 and 4. I also made a small mistake on my best lap, and I haven't even used a new tyre for a proper time attack yet, so I'm optimistic that we can improve even more tomorrow.
"We know that in qualifying nothing is ever guaranteed, and anything can happen, but I'm feeling very confident. Of course, I'll try to fight for pole position, but the main target is to start on the front row – especially if the weather forecast is correct and we end up racing in the rain on Sunday. In that case, starting at the front could be very important to avoid the chaos behind."

"I used today mainly to learn the track with the Moto2 bike, as this circuit is still quite new for me in this category. I tried to improve step by step and corner by corner, and I think we made some good progress throughout the day.
"We worked a lot on the bike's set-up and there are still some areas where we can improve further. In particular, there are a couple of corners where I still need to better understand the best approach and find the right feeling. Overall, I think we have good potential for tomorrow. If we can make another step in those areas, I believe we can aim to go into Q2."
