BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2's Izan Guevara secured sixth place in today's Grand Prix of Spain Moto2 Practice and a spot in tomorrow's Q2 session. Alberto Ferrández worked on making strides at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto. He finished in 27th place in the Practice timesheets.

Having finished FP1 in P19, Guevara was keen to put his head down in the afternoon Practice and make steps – and he did so in the final minute. His 1'39.295s set on lap 15/15 earned him P6 in the timesheets. He will take part in tomorrow's Q2.

Ferrández was already familiar with the Jerez track, but the Moto2 championship level is high, and the pace was hot on the Friday. In the afternoon, the rookie clocked a 1'40.502s on lap 14/15, improving more than 0.5s on his morning time. However, it still put him in P27, resulting in a Q1-entry.

Track action resumes on Saturday at 09:25-09:55 (GMT+2) for FP2, and the qualifying sessions will take place from 13:40-14:20.

"Well, first day getting a feel for the bike. It's true that I wasn't finding much grip this morning. The bike was running pretty well, I felt comfortable, but I was missing that extra bit of tyre grip. After working on the bike a bit for the afternoon session, the most important one, the Practice, we managed to find the right dynamics and that grip we were missing to put in a good lap. We were able to replicate the time we did in the Jerez preseason test, so that's important, and I feel quite comfortable riding, so we're going to fly tomorrow."

"Today was a positive day because we found different feelings from the preseason Jerez test, and it is positive because I started to feel better and better. Session by session, we are working to find these good feelings with the bike. I'm working also on my skills because I lost a lot in the fast corners, but I'm really good in the slow ones. So, we have to find a balance, and we are working on it. Overall, it was not a bad day. Step by step, we continue growing. We are on the right track."
