BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2's Izan Guevara and Alberto Ferrández made the most of the first riding sessions at the Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia – Ayrton Senna, a new circuit for both riders. With mixed conditions adding an extra challenge, they completed the Friday Practice in P8 and P15.

Having finished FP1 in P2, Guevara was immediately back on the pace in the 40-minute afternoon practice session, but the battle for a place inside the top 14 proved a fierce one. Nevertheless, the number 28 cemented his direct spot in Q2 by setting a 1'24.375s on lap 21/23, earning him P8 in the timesheets.

Ferrández impressed in the morning, completing the session in P7. In the afternoon, the rookie moved into the top 3 by the midway stage of the Practice, again highlighting his quick adaptability. However, the lap times continued to drop. Despite his best efforts, the young Spaniard came just 0.004s short for a place in Q2. He wrapped up the session in 15th with a 1'24.839s, set on lap 22/22, and is keen to try again in tomorrow's Q1.

Tomorrow, the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team will be back in action at 09:25-09:55 (GMT-3) for FP2, and the qualifying sessions from 13:40-14:20.

"It was quite an unusual first day here in Brazil. I really like the circuit, it's short but quite demanding. In the morning, we rode in wet conditions, and I felt comfortable with the bike, with good grip. In the afternoon session, the track conditions were more difficult to manage, with many wet patches that made it hard to follow the ideal lines. This didn't allow me to ride the way I wanted, but we still managed to finish in eighth position. I hope the track conditions improve tomorrow so we can fully exploit our potential."

"Today was good. I'm very happy with how the day went in general, because we made good progress in both practice sessions, so I'm happy with that. I know that I have more for tomorrow, so I'm happy with that too. I really think that we have a good opportunity to get into Q2 tomorrow. We continue learning, and step by step we will get there. The first thing that I noticed about this track today was that the grip in the wet was amazing, but also in the dry, like in the last practice once there was more rubber on the track. I had a good feeling with the bike in both conditions, so let's see what we can do tomorrow!"
