Lusail (Qatar), 4th November 2026
Following a hard-fought weekend in Malaysia, the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team now head to the Middle East for the Grand Prix of Qatar at the Lusail International Circuit. Located just outside Doha, the 5.38 km venue is one of the most distinctive tracks on the MotoGP calendar. Featuring 16 corners and a flowing layout characterised by high-speed direction changes and long, sweeping turns, Lusail rewards precision, commitment, and corner speed. Renowned for its spectacular desert setting and iconic floodlights, the circuit presents a unique challenge for riders and teams as the Moto2 title battle enters its decisive phase.

Izan Guevara arrives in Qatar with momentum firmly on his side after another competitive performance in Malaysia. The Spaniard now sits just 3.5 points behind the championship leader with three rounds remaining. Although Qatar has not historically been one of his strongest venues, he has shown competitive pace there before, recording his best result at the circuit with a sixth place in the 2021 Doha Grand Prix during his Moto3 debut campaign. With every point now carrying significant championship implications, Guevara and the team will be aiming to maximise their potential throughout the weekend.

Alberto Ferrández heads to Qatar determined to bounce back after a challenging weekend in Malaysia. The rookie Spaniard continues building confidence following the collarbone injury sustained at the Austrian GP. Like several of the circuits visited during the flyaway races, Lusail will be a completely new experience for Ferrández, presenting another valuable opportunity to expand his knowledge and continue his development. His focus will be on making steady improvements throughout the weekend, learning the characteristics of the circuit, and converting that progress into a strong race result.

Team Manager, BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2
"Qatar was a difficult circuit for us last year, but we arrive this time with a completely different level of potential and a much more positive outlook. From the middle of last season onwards, Izan made consistent progress, becoming increasingly competitive, culminating in his victory in Valencia. When we came to Qatar last year, neither he nor the bike, and probably not even the team, had reached the level we have today.

"Now the situation is completely different. We're all performing at a very high level, working well at every circuit, and showing that we can be fast in different conditions and from different positions on the grid. We therefore have every reason to believe we can be competitive in Qatar as well. Our objective remains to score as many points as possible and avoid giving anything away. Izan is very good at managing that, and we'll make sure we work carefully on every detail to give him the best possible package.

"As for Alberto, I hope he can take a step forward in Qatar and achieve a stronger result than in the previous rounds. He is very motivated and genuinely wants to do well. Although we're not putting any additional pressure on him, we know that a positive result would be valuable for his confidence and continued development."

"Qatar is a circuit I really like, although I've never stood on the podium here, so I think this could be a good weekend to try to change that. We're now just three and a half points behind the championship leader, so every point matters.

"It's a track with many fast corners, and we'll need to adapt our riding style to make the most of its characteristics. We're coming off a positive result in Malaysia, where we fought until the end of the race, so I'm looking forward to getting the weekend started and continuing to work in the same way we have been doing so far."

"Qatar is another circuit I don't know, so it will be another track I have to learn. It looks like a really nice circuit, and I'm looking forward to riding there. I also want to put the difficult weekend in Malaysia behind me and get back to enjoying my riding and making progress."
