Phillip Island (Australia), 21st October 2026
Following the Indonesian Grand Prix, the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team gear up for the next series of stops of this year's Asian-Oceania flyaway tour. The Grand Prix of Australia takes place at the spectacular Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, one of the most iconic venues on the MotoGP calendar. Located on Phillip Island in Victoria, the 4.45 km circuit features 12 corners and is renowned for its ultra-fast layout, flowing sequences, and breathtaking coastal setting. Frequently influenced by unpredictable weather conditions and strong winds, Phillip Island presents a unique challenge that demands adaptability from both riders and teams.

Izan Guevara arrives in Australia carrying significant momentum after an exceptional run of three wins that has firmly established him as one of the leading contenders in the Moto2 World Championship. The Spaniard aims to continue closing the gap – now down to 5.5 points – in the title race this weekend. Although Phillip Island proved challenging for Guevara last season, both rider and team are confident they can improve this year. The circuit has been a successful hunting ground for the number 28 in the past: he secured a victory there in the Moto3 class in 2022.

Alberto Ferrández heads into the Australian Grand Prix encouraged by the progress made during his comeback weekend in Indonesia. Having returned to racing there after missing the Japanese Grand Prix due to the collarbone injury sustained in Austria, the rookie successfully completed a demanding weekend while continuing to rebuild strength and confidence. The additional week between races afforded him valuable time for recovery, and Ferrández now arrives at Phillip Island aiming to take another step forward. With the Australian circuit presenting an entirely new challenge, his focus will be on learning the track, continuing his development, and building a solid foundation for the remainder of the season.

Team Manager, BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2
"Phillip Island is a fantastic circuit, and we arrive at a very important moment for our team. Izan is coming off three excellent races and is in great form, with his confidence growing and a strong connection with the bike. We need to make the most of this momentum, although we know this is a circuit where braking is less decisive, so we may find it more difficult to be as competitive as we were at the previous rounds.

"We will give it our best effort and look for any opportunities to be competitive on a track that is both extremely fast and beautiful.

"Alberto has trained hard and completed plenty of physiotherapy over the past week. This time, the goal is not only to finish the race but also to approach the weekend with the determination to keep improving and be competitive.

"Phillip Island is a completely new and particularly challenging circuit for Alberto, so we cannot expect everything to come together on Friday. The important thing will be to make progress session by session, gradually moving ahead of as many riders as possible without taking unnecessary risks. I believe we have a great weekend ahead of us, with plenty of opportunities to achieve positive results."

"The last three races have been really positive, and I feel we are in a very good moment. The work we are doing with the team is paying off, and right now I have a lot of speed and confidence with the bike. It's true that the last three circuits were among my favourites, while Phillip Island is a track where we struggled quite a bit last year. However, given the feeling we have at the moment, I believe we can still have a strong race here.

"We will also have to see what the weather brings, as rain is a possibility, but we are ready to adapt to any conditions. The goal is to enjoy another race weekend, keep working in the same way, and try to achieve another good result."

"I'm really happy to have had this week off between Mandalika and Australia, as it helped me recover further from my injury. I'm confident I'll be in much better shape in Australia than I was in Indonesia, where I was still dealing with a lot of pain.

"I'm also happy to have come away from Mandalika without any crashes or further problems. Now I can focus on continuing my recovery and preparing for Australia, where I expect to feel much better. We need to keep working, keep improving, and continue building towards next year."
