Montmeló (Catalonia), 13th May 2026
BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 have arrived at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for Round 6 of the 2026 Moto2 World Championship. With races coming back to back, the team are keen to carry over the positive energy from their race win in France but are also aware of the challenges posed by a track where tyre management and consistency throughout the weekend are crucial.

After his impressive weekend in Le Mans, Izan Guevara enters the Catalan GP holding second in the championship standings with a 9.5-point gap to first. Barcelona is a circuit he enjoys and where he has tasted success before, including a Moto3 victory in 2022. His best Moto2 result at the venue is his fifth place from last season. The Spaniard is determined to get a top result in front of his home crowd this year in order to stay firmly in the title fight.

For Alberto Ferrández, the Catalan track is a circuit that he knows very well. The rookie has shown his professionalism, adaptability, and overall progress in Le Mans, finishing inside the points in a tricky restart (declared dry while the original race was declared wet). With his French GP effort rewarded with 1 point, he is currently 23rd in the standings with 1.5 points, motivating him to continue his learning process in Montmeló, his second home race of the season.

Team Manager, BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2
"We know that after the Le Mans weekend there will be a lot more attention on us, but we are proud of that, and we are approaching it calmly – both the team and Izan himself.

"More than ever before, in Le Mans I saw Izan relaxed, confident, and fully convinced of his potential, and that is extremely important. Sometimes when expectations become very high, they can create distractions or make a rider feel the weight of responsibility too much. Instead, Izan seems to be handling this moment with great maturity, and that is probably the most positive aspect of all.

"As a team, we will continue focusing on work race by race and simply trying to do our best every weekend. Barcelona is also a very tricky circuit because tyre management is crucial there, so we will need to stay extremely focused and work perfectly throughout the weekend. I believe we have everything we need to be competitive again in Barcelona.

"For Alberto, this will be a track he already knows well, and from him too we expect to see him continuing the positive learning process he has already shown so far. He has given us several promising signs and now the objective is to keep building step by step."

"After such an incredible weekend in France, we arrive in Barcelona highly motivated and full of confidence. It's a home race for us, with our fans and our people around us, and with the races coming back to back we still carry a lot of positive energy from Le Mans.

"Our objective is to have another very strong weekend, starting solidly right from the first practice sessions and trying to stay consistently at the front from the beginning. Of course, repeating a weekend like the one we had in France will not be easy, but we know the potential we have at the moment, and we want to keep working in the same direction.

"Barcelona is a circuit I really enjoy and where I've had good results and victories in the past, so I arrive feeling confident and motivated. We know how important it will be to manage the weekend well because this track can be very demanding, but we are ready to give everything once again."

"I'm really excited to go to Barcelona because it's my second home race here in Spain, and I like the track as well.

"I think we learned a lot of things in France and will be able to make another step in Barcelona. We have to keep working as we are doing now, but I'd also like to focus a bit more on improving my qualifying to be more towards the front. If we can do that, I think we can also make a good step in the race. So, yeah, I'm excited for Barcelona. Let's see how it goes!"
