The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team have arrived in Buriram for the first of twenty-two rounds of the 2026 Moto2 World Championship, starting with the Grand Prix of Thailand. Despite feeling under the weather, Izan Guevara is full of drive and has high hopes of being a top scorer. Rookie Alberto Ferrández is visiting the Chang International Circuit for the very first time and is keen to learn during his first race weekend with the team.

Although suffering from acute gastroenteritis upon his arrival in Thailand, Guevara is aiming to hit the ground running this season. He is well acquainted with the Buriram track, having ridden there four times prior. His best results were a fifth place in Moto3 in 2022 and a sixth place in Moto2 in 2024.

Rookie Moto2 rider Ferrández has never raced at the Chang International Circuit before, but the Spanish talent is up for the challenge. Having done his homework, he hopes to be able to adapt quickly to the Buriram circuit's layout and enjoy his debut race weekend to the fullest. His objective for the year is clear: learn and improve every GP weekend.

The Chang International Circuit opened in 2014, and MotoGP made its debut there in 2018. The circuit is located about 410km northeast of the country's capital, Bangkok, and is close to the town of Buriram. Many riders and fans are excited by the Chang track's 4.55km layout that includes a 1km longest straight and five left and seven right turns.

The Grand Prix of Thailand is held in the GMT+7 time zone. FP1 will take place on Friday from 09:50-10:30 local track time and Practice from 14:05-14:45. On Saturday, FP2 will be held from 09:25-09:55, and the qualifying sessions from 13:40-14:20. On Sunday, the 22-lap Race starts at 13:15.

"I'm excited to start this new chapter of my career in the Moto2 World Championship. I'm very grateful to Yamaha and Pramac for making this dream come true. It will be my first time at the Buriram Circuit, as it will be at many of the overseas rounds, and that presents an extra challenge and motivation as I approach this season. I'm ready for the first race of the year. I know it will be tough to manage the high temperatures, and I've trained as hard as possible to arrive fully prepared. My goal for this first GP, and for the whole season, is to learn as much as I can, listening carefully to every piece of advice and guidance from my team."
